Upon retiring from the US Air Force, I wanted to start my own business. It was something my mother had done, but impossible for me to do while I was still serving our country. I researched franchise options and eventually bought into a franchise that I ran for three years, increasing revenue each year. That business, while profitable, wasn’t meeting my needs so I started a retail craft store. After spending several months writing a business plan and securing funding, we opened our doors to the public. That business is still going 5 years later, with increasing revenue each year.

Starting a business is incredibly frustrating. Whether you are buying into a franchise, or starting something from scratch, there are few resources out there to help small business owners to run the business side of their business. Examples include deciding what business streams are profitable, what does my cash flow look like, how to best market the business, how are my customer relations, what should my growth strategy be, etc. I spent a lot time researching business strategies, learning about the psychology of buying decisions, and understanding business financials. Now, I want to share what I learned and my experiences with you. My passion is to help business owners realize their dream of business success, whatever that means to you.

After running two successful business operations, I decided I wanted to help other small business owners overcome the hurdles I had to navigate alone, so I became certified as a small business consultant through AASBC (Association of Accredited Small Business Consultants). AASBC is the world’s leading educational and training certification program for small business consultants. This training focuses on the needs unique to small business owners.

In addition to getting certified as a small business consultant, I am also a business mentor through the SCORE organization. SCORE is the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals. Since 1964, SCORE has provided education and mentorship to more than 11 million entrepreneurs. SCORE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

I look forward to helping you achieve the success you desire.
